The closed project you can neither keep nor delete.
After several years in service, a Jira instance carries hundreds of projects. Some are still running. The others closed long ago.
Three constraints converge on these closed projects:
Each migration rehearsal replays the whole scope carried over. A closed project taken along in the cutover costs testing time and seats in the target.
An external audit, a sector obligation or a GDPR request often bears on files closed years ago.
A record of decisions keeps its value after closure.
Deletion is ruled out, and keeping it in the instance costs money.

What Aquarius does.
Aquarius extracts a scope of Jira issues into a self-contained ZIP archive. A JQL query or a saved Jira filter defines that scope: an entire project, a list of issues, the result of any search.
The archive contains a browsable website. It is read-only, with no Jira instance, no licence and no account. For each issue extracted, it keeps:
HTML and Word.
XML and JSON.
Links, history and custom fields.
Extractions respect the Jira permissions in place: a user only takes out the issues they can already access. Dedicated permissions govern extraction, download, monitoring and deletion. Your data stays in your infrastructure. Your rules apply.
Aquarius covers Jira Data Center and Cloud. Extraction runs outside Jira, with no app to install in the instance.

No. BleuLemon distributes Aquarius directly, outside the Marketplace. Installation, configuration and support therefore come from the same contact. This short route makes it possible to adapt the product to precise operating constraints, particularly in banking, insurance, defence and the public sector.
Do you need to keep Jira to read an Aquarius archive?
No. The ZIP archive contains a self-contained, browsable website. It opens without a Jira instance, without a licence, without an account. An external auditor can therefore consult the history without access to your production environment, which avoids opening temporary permissions on the instance.
Who can launch an extraction?
The Jira permissions in force apply: each user extracts only the issues they can already access. Dedicated permissions govern extraction, download, monitoring and deletion of archives. The list of authorised people is fixed during scoping, with your Jira administrators.
Does Aquarius work on our version of Jira?
Compatibility is checked on your instance before any commitment: Jira version, deployment type, apps installed, volumes. That check fits into the first conversation, and it costs nothing.
